Privacy Policy
How Artemis collects, uses, and protects your data.
Effective Date: January 7, 2026
1. Introduction
Artemis Organization ("we", "us", "our") operates the Artemis desktop application and the website artemis.ink. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using Artemis, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Jurisdiction: This policy is governed by the laws of Lithuania.
2. Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you interact with our Service.
2.1 Account & Payment Information
When you register or subscribe, we collect:
- Identity Data: Email address, username, and authentication tokens (via Google or GitHub).
- Payment Data: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. Stripe provides us with a token to facilitate the transaction and billing status.
2.2 Application Operational Data (The AI Context)
To function, the Artemis Desktop App must analyze your computer's state.
- Input Data: Text prompts and commands you type into the Artemis interface.
- Context Data: Real-time snapshots of your active windows, screen content, accessibility trees (DOM), and other system data necessary to execute your commands.
- System Data: Technical information about your device (OS version, screen resolution) to ensure compatibility.
2.3 Website Data
- Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and preferences.
- Analytics: We may use anonymous analytics to understand website traffic flow.
3. How We Process & Store Data
This is how we handle your sensitive screen data:
3.1 Transient Processing (Cloud)
The "Context Data" (your screen, window contents, and inputs) sent to our servers is processed ephemerally.
- No Persistent Screen Storage: We do not build a database of your screen history. The data is transmitted securely to our inference servers, processed to generate the AI's response/action, and is discarded immediately after the session is over.
- Session End: Once your session or task is complete, no residual visual data from your computer remains on our cloud infrastructure.
3.2 Local Storage (Your Device)
- History & Logs: Your chat history, past interactions, and long-term memory context are stored locally on your device.
- Encryption: This local data is encrypted to ensure that only you can access your history.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To interpret your commands and control the computer interface as requested.
- Billing: To manage subscriptions and process payments.
- Authentication: To verify your identity and prevent unauthorized access to your account.
- Security: To detect and prevent fraudulent use, malware distribution, or violations of our Terms of Service.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your data. We share data only with trusted infrastructure providers necessary to run the Service:
- Stripe: For payment processing.
- Cloud Infrastructure Providers: We use third-party high-performance computing providers to run the AI models. These providers are contractually bound to process data only for the duration of the inference task.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency in Lithuania).
6. Security
We employ industry-standard security measures:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your client and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
- Access Control: Access to server infrastructure is strictly limited to authorized personnel.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights, including:
- The right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you (Account Data).
- The right of rectification.
- The right to object.
To exercise these rights, please contact us. Note that since we do not store your screen history on our servers, we cannot "export" your past screen sessions—they exist only on your local machine.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
